While staying in McLeod Ganj, home of the Dalai Lama I was quickly made aware of the monks who were taking part in self-immolation in protest of China's rule over Tibet. There was a very sombre mood through the town. I was comforted somewhat after speaking with these monks on the topic and thought their location made for a great photograph, advocating peace and healing.
