Dhobi Ghat can be found in the shadow of the great Mumbai city, tucked away on the outskirts, looking to the skyrises that bring in the steady flow of jeans, dresses and assorted uniforms to be washed by hand. This image from the world's largest laundromat was taken at 5 am, as the Ghat began to rise. I wandered around, making friends with the live-in workers who spend their day's knee-deep in detergent and their nights ironing garments by candlelight.
